About FreshersNow is a job and educational portal which provides free educational and employment information to help job seekers and aspirants. They provide information and details ranging from IT jobs, bank jobs, government job updates to internships, preparation materials and universities admissions/ updates. This website holds an average of 3 million monthly traffic and marks its loyalty and trust in the users with the right and relevant content.

Janardhan Raju who is the founder of the website says he started this portal with a motto to provide timely and regular updates to the job seekers and career aspirants.

Initially, Janardhan was very interested in creating websites while he was a degree student. He used to go to the internet cafe and create a lot of websites out of passion. Later he got an idea to create a website that is useful for students. He went on to create a website called in the year 2011 which provides job updates and run it for 4 years before he sold it. Now, with a strong and solid base, he came up with FreshersNow which is now a one-stop stall for all the career aspirants.

How FreshersNow uses Truepush for customer engagement integrated Truepush in May 2020 and ever since then it has seen terrific growth in the customer re-engagement and repeat traffic. During the conversation, when Ravi asked Janardhan about the various marketing channels they use for engagement, he says that concentrated most on SEO and relies on push notifications altogether. Also says that Truepush push notifications have helped them in sending timely and latest job updates to the users for free. He quotes that “previously we have tried many push notifications vendors but there are only a few good vendors which are again very expensive. After getting along with Truepush we got the best experience and results with them”

FreshersNow has gained close to 500K subscribers out of which 450K+ are active subscribers. This portal gains more than 10,000 subscribers on a daily basis and can be said that this is achieved all due to the constant engagement.

Segmentation and Push strategy

When asked Janardhan about their push notifications strategy and how they segment their audience base, he answers saying “earlier we used to send 100-200 notifications a day which had poor CTRs and subscribers. Later we drew a bar in sending 1 notification an hour and for any urgent or important update, we will schedule the campaign immediately irrespective of the planned schedule. Our team monitors the CTRs of the campaigns sent and whichever notifications get the higher CTRs, we segment that particular audience based on the clicks and sends the notifications to them whenever there is a similar kind of update/ information to be shared.

FreshersNow uses Truepush segmentation feature and segments its audience based on user interest, page visits, location, etc. Sending push notifications based on segments is ideally considered the best practice to gain more CTRs and engagement and also helps in retaining the subscribers.
