It was a fantastic journey, the responses from users, content creators and viewers have been amazing. On the whole, the experience has been phenomenal.

Misconception about the application

Chingari is not a new platform which came after the ban of Chinese apps. It existed before the ban too; it did not pop up all of a sudden. The app is 18 months old, it has been on play store for more than a year and a half.

The ban was never a business plan

We always were ready for the spike and the Chinese app ban was never a part of the business plan or strategy. The tech team has been strong and we have been ready for the increase in the scale.

Evolution of content

People now have reduced attention and patience for lengthy content. Hence, TikTok was successful with its short content. Everything came down to shorter content as the attention and patience span is reducing. People are busy and they want shorter videos and crisp content; this was the main idea behind Chingari.

Vocal for local: Indian movement

Vocal for local has been a major boost and our main focus was Bharat (India). Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Vocal for local have given the application an initial push. These movements helped us get massive attention and awareness among people.

There are various languages from Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, etc. Initially, our main marketing strategy was through word of mouth and we strongly believe in it to this day, along with being as local as possible for a wide range of users.
