What is your website? Can you narrate us the story behind building it? (What is the unique problem you’re trying to solve)

I have a tech blog. I write about computers, the internet, and smart devices. 10 years ago, I became more interested in computers and I wanted to share with others everything I learned new – hence the name “Learn New” (original: “Saznaj Novo”). The reason why I wanted it is that I also found useful and interesting information from other bloggers. I wanted to somehow return a piece of my knowledge to the community. And then I decided to start my own blog and become a part of that fantastic community.

What are the various growth or marketing channels you’re trying to get more visitors on the website?

I didn’t bother too much about marketing in the beginning because I felt that useful and unique content was enough. However, over time, many commercial blogs (and portals) appeared, after which we independent bloggers fell into their shadow. Then I realized that I would need a large financial investment if I wanted the blog to be visible. That’s when I started researching email marketing, social networks, SEO … and finally found Push notifications. This is by far the most effective way to gain regular readers.

Do you think customer retention is crucial for businesses? How do push notifications help in it?

As I mentioned before – it is very effective. I find that if I provide a good product people will come back for more and recommend to friends. Push notifications help in this because a) only true customers, who care about your brand and products, will sign up; b) these real users will always be in the loop with your products and news. It is a win-win situation.

How do you plan out your push notification strategy? What are the parameters you consider while building it?

In most cases, I choose an image that is standard for my blog posts so the users will instantly recognize my notification in a sea of others. Also, I always put the name of my blog in the title of the notification. In the description, I add a part of the blog post so that the user can immediately decide whether he is interested in that article or not. I don’t want to do click-bait, it’s not good practice because it harms the brand in the long run.

What is the most used push notification feature, and how it helped you in getting more conversion rates?

I mostly use templates and segments. Templates help me create notifications quickly, and segments help me deliver notifications more accurately.

How long have you been using Truepush, and how is it helping you achieve your business goals?

I have been using Truepush for a little over a year. So far, I have gathered a lot of subscribers thanks to the fact that Truepush is completely free.
